Sneakage Dysfunktion.

no sneakers cause of a: pain and b: event horizon. Going to hospital tomorrow and might need to cut back on irresponsible partying afterwards. The medical society is such a partypooper.

Dirty Sneakers Saturday & Friday 22/23-04-2005

Combined post, this as I've ran out of time.
I'm trying to get a feel for what I'm doing here, not with the aim of satisfying some non-existant public but to get into a journalistic comfy groove...
For the moment I've decided to go with less parties and more talk.

One thing I'm going to be looking at is the electronic extensions of clubs. One site that cought my eye this week is http://www.milkclub.be/ wich is hosting Friday 22.04
Bamboola prod Live on friday and Dali's at Milk on saturday. Def the type of place i'm going to check out sooner or later...
I'll be spending my saturday in The Zoo enjoying the dirt crew after a quick spin round Brussels, but there's more than enough electro to go round- that is, if you don't mind the occasional lurch towards acid.
Now that may seem the logical evolution from electro onwards, but I'm not really sure I want to celebrate empty-headed power-dressing yuppies with a nasty drughabit... so I think I'll be sticking to the alternative breaks path.

Dirty Sneakers Thursday 21-04-05

A bit late with this weeks agenda, but let's not fuss about my shortcomings, right? Thought so. Also I stopped counting before I ran out of german.
I'm still looking for more info on this, but le soixante in Brussels seems to be a nice place to hang out, I'll check it out as soon as I'm more mobile, but meanwhile go take a look yourself. If you're not convinced try Cafe Central for their resident Central Electric
Another new venue in Antwerp cropped up (and might be a one-time-dump) wich is kelder (no definite artickle) and will be hosting electronic fuck. With a dj name as Blew Job you can be sure they're at the forefront of sexayness.
In Leuven Fataal is featuring techno, but as I said before I'm not too fond of the regular crowd.
Gent offers
Decadance residency, but more interesting imho might be Tijuana (gorgeous site btw) feat. guest Stewie.
Friday coming up.

hard fuck

Just came back from Fataal, early because of work tomorrow and the tiny shred of common sense telling me I'm dancing my ass off without my neck actually being properly attached, but what I saw (DJ Dan)was good and the people trickling in had very sexy moves going, wich is what Eazy Fuck is all about. Not the stuck up lipgloss crowd I saw last time, and definetely re-establishing the Music Cafe as a venue... If only I had more time and vertebrae.

Dirty Sneakers Drei: Saturday 16-04-2005

One of the contemporary classics is
dirtydancing in brussels, I've never gotten round to visiting the venue but the lineup is solid. Another classic is FutureWorldFunk at the Recyclart.
But THE party of the weekend is without a doubt Breakdown at the Muziekodroom. If you're around hasselt, but not willing to go to the muziekodroom for some reason (e.g. stalkers or that big guy that checks for chemicals) you can always try the zoo where loudkob WILL deliver some serious drum and bass.

Dirty Sneakerz Drei- Friday 15-04-2005

Friday then, the bestest part of the week - except for the pre-weekend hangover.
First of all here's a @the villa vintage party at the Fuse in Brussel, should be pretty solid party material also in Brussel is next level (nice site design) at birmingham centre.
In Gent there's a jungle party called Weeatbabies at den achterban, a place I hadn't heard of before... I'm always pleasantly surprised by new, less obvious locations.
decadance is featuring booty-Ghetto tech, and this is still the hottest music around as far as I can tell ;)
Silo in Leuven has some straight up techno with chrome, solid but kinda boring.
And The Zoo in Hasselt brings Dominion 6 , wich should degrade into ultra-kitch italo.. nice ;)

Dirty Sneakers Drei: Thursday 14-04-2005

Since I'm sorta stuck in the middle of nowhere this weekend I'm gonna pay some more attention on Thursday.

My choice for the evening is definetely going to be
Fataal in the Music cafe in leuven, who are graciously hosting *eazy fuck*!
I've mentioned these people enough already, let me just add that last time I saw Lektro in the Music cafe the regulars seemed flabbergasted, so I hope the mood will be wilder this time.
In Gent the Rector is hosting Londenbeat for a Lectrocuted party. This seems to be the first of a promising line of Electro parties.
Furthermore The Zoo in Hasselt is hosting Culture Shock with Bobby Ewing.
Finally in Brussels there's a free party at Le Soixante, and Cafe Central features Retro Chicago with Miss Elorak.
Next up: Friday, but with a lineup like this the weekend will have to be pretty amazing to compete..

Impending Dirtyness Sneaking About

More about the aforementioned changes: there's some technical stuff I'm working on, like making a small list of links referring to organisers, venues etc. mainly meant to make the blogging easier. This should come into effect soon.
The other step is bigger: I'm going to move to another host, once the site there is set up. That one is going to take a little longer.
The last change is I'm going to try getting some interviews out of dj's, organizers, etc from another angle than bio or music. See if there is a method behind the madness so to speak...
Next up party agenda for this weekend.

parsnippery

Well first things first: there is no lineup for saturday. Since no-one reads this it will come as no surprise. But consider the talking to yourself when you're getting a job done. Computer experts will recognize this: you're shunting something into a memory cache until you need it. Likewise when you think of something you need to do after you've stopped doing what you're doing, you speak out louud and it creates a cerebral-vocal-auditory-cerebral loop that reminds you just in time.
Or if you need to keep focused on what you'e doing whilst tempted to do other stuff.
It comes down to this blog being such a loop, slower than talking to myself, more active than a scheduler.

Basically I have been busy doing loads of stuff, going back to work dealing with pain, more pain, meeting my friends over beers, meetign new people, falling in love, basically trying to get my life back into the chaotic tornado state I like it to be in.
Unfortunatly I'm way short of being able to handle that so I keep having to cut stuff I was looking forward to in favor of stuff that needs urgent attention. Lik forcing myself to sit down and give my still-broken neck a rest.

So I stayed in last night, and I'm staying in tonight, and I'm not going to do a overview of tonights partying.

I do have new plans for Infrastatic, and I'll keep talking to myself. You can read it here.

Imminent rebirth of the dirty sneakers

I'll have to go easy on the going-out in the next month, and might face surgery afterwards, but if all goes as planned - cue the cigar - I'll be posting about belgian nightlife weekly again.
This weekend I did a trial run at the zoo, and noticed that besides my obvious neck injury, my knee is busted as well. Wich slowed me down some.
The Zoo seems to be losing ground, although it's not obvious which other venue is gaining. Dirty shame since the concept is very attractive to organisers, although it leaves little surplus to invest in the venue itsself. There's still some partying to be had there though..
This week friday thumbs up for my - insert hoodism of choice - Palmino who'll be spinning Techno at Format C, again at The Zoo. I'll have to skip it but if you're near give it a go.
Another big event on friday is the international deejay gigolo night at the Silo in Leuven... Besides the obvious headliners there will be an elektro room with my favourite deejay Stephen, Cosy Mozzy, Smos and Baby B.. Definite b-there.
The Culture Club, Gent, will be hosting Vitalic amongst others - I'd stay away after the crowd I saw his 'hits' draw at Pukkelpop, but the music will be solid and the rest of the line-up is spectacular.
Add Dirty Dancing in Brussels to that lineup and once more you've got an evening that's bursting at the seams with elektro goodness... wich I will be spending at home.
Saturday's lineup to follow.
